‘Never again’ has become ‘time and again’. I’m exploring genocide from the 19th to 21st centuries, a project that seeks to make visible the destructive power of hatred, bigotry, and racism, and to remind us how urgently this remains relevant today.

Despite the refrain “Never Again,” we have seen the descent into genocide time and again—Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda, Sudan, Myanmar, Syria, Ukraine, and now Gaza. My project bears witness to that continued failure.
